Design Competition Results for 2008 Space Station
In 2008, NASA received 156 projects from 840 students supported by 74 teachers, projects from places procedientes as diverse as Bulgaria, Canada, China, India, Iran, Japan, Pakistan, Romania, Singapore, Slovenia and Uruguay. 10 groups also attended the United States.
Winning Proposal "DACIA" Romanian pupils
main prize winners were the young representatives of Romania for his project DACIA'S. The NASA portal distinguished in the highly competitive level of the proposals and particularly underlines that a number of honorable mentions were for teams that have been winning major awards in recent years, as is the case of representatives of secondary school no. 4, Maldonado, Uruguay.
Among the winners in 2008 the first prize is the project ECOPUS School of the construction (Montevideo). The high school students no. Maldonado 4 of this year, with their proposal "New Gaia", obtained an honorable mention.

The Uruguayan team, one of three that won the 2007 contest space station design sponsored by NASA Ames NSS and responded to the question "Why Space?" within the framework of the International Conference on Spatial Development (ISDC) developed in May 2007.
