Participation Annual Cycle Human Rights Education:

Cycle comprises 8 academic sessions. These will take place in the auditorium of the University of the Republic from 19 to 21 hours on days scheduled in the calendar. It is noted to be controlled
attendance record and stay in the room during all the scheduled sessions. The cycle is free.

Modalities of participation:

Awards and certificates.

Face: You will get annual survey in this mode who regularly attend the entire cycle. Must compute at least 80% attendance (equivalent to a minimum of 6 sessions). In the annual survey shall show the percentage

face: People inside the country and those residing abroad
may participate in the semi-face mode. Must
attend a mandatory three academic sessions. Other sessions may consult
Coordination through the Chair. The applicant must clarify the time of registration
the mode in which to register. They get

annual survey in the form who counted three sessions.
The meeting of December 10 is not counted to obtain the semi annual
face recognition. The travel and accommodation for those attending from the interior or exterior
borne by participants.

Certificates: Those who do not compute the minimum expected attendance for the annual survey
in any form, may request a certificate attesting to the meetings at which he has participated
which will be issued after the general computation of visits
once the annual cycle.

The UNESCO Chair in Human Rights UDELAR is an integrated system of research, teaching, dissemination and promotion of human rights at the level of Higher Education. Its activities seek to build awareness of teachers, alumni, students and other actors at the societal level, the profound respect for the dignity of the human person through strengthening education, understanding and consolidation of a true culture by Human Rights, Tolerance and Peace.

The hub of activities is the Annual Cycle of Human Rights Education. In the same specialists have participated in human rights and valuable intellectual Uruguay and abroad. Its interdisciplinary approach allows the design of Human Rights to all fields. Its various editions have been declared of national interest and education by the Ministry of Education (2005, 2006, 2007) and the Ministry of Interior (2006, 2007). It was sponsored by the National Police Academy (2007), Ministry of Defence (2006) and the Bar Association of Uruguay (2006, 2007). Students participate in it, teachers at all levels of education and graduates. Well as cadets from the National Police, Interior Ministry officials and the Ministry of Defence.

Campaign "A book and a disk to jail"

Under the Program of Support to the community carried out by the Chair
with the participation of volunteers, will continue the
campaign launched in 2004, "A BOOK AND A HARD TO JAIL." The audio and reading materials that meet will be donated to libraries of institutions of Uruguay Prison.

To date we have donated over 2000 copies of books and reading materials a different
Libraries. Among them: Women's Prison Cabildo; Criminal Libertad Prison
Departmental Rocha; Prison Department of Cologne "Piedra del Indio", School of Prisons.

In the framework of the UNESCO Chair Campaign coordinates educational visits to different correctional facilities in order to promote understanding of the problem
prison and awareness of the participants.

CONSTRUCTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS WORK IS ENDLESS.
