Lebanese Prime feature, director and actress Nadine Labaki.
"Caramel" revolves around the lives of five Lebanese women who match into a beauty salon. Layale (Nadine Labaki) works in a beauty salon in Beirut along with Nisrine (Yasmine Al Masri) and Rima (Joanna Moukarzel). Each of them has a problem: Layale no future in a relationship with a married man, Nisrine is not a virgin and getting married in a society where we do not accept sex before marriage, Muslim society, Rima are attracted to women; Jamal (Gisèle Aouad) is a regular customer who wants to be an actress that age is concerned, Rose (Siham Haddad), a seamstress who has a shop near the lounge is an older woman who finds her first love after having devoted his life to caring for her older sister Lili (Aziza Semaan), which is unbalanced psychic. The film makes no reference to any political problem or the recent war situation in which Lebanon has been plunged, but ordinary people with common problems.
