In the United States authorize a law to kill doctors who perform abortion

The law known as "Bill 1171" has already been approved in committee and now must be reviewed and considered by the House of Representatives State of South Dakota . This would in theory, "a father or mother [...] to kill anyone who tries to perform an abortion on a woman, even if it's consenting." The law expanded the definition of "justifiable homicide, including murder committed in the context of the defense of the fetus.

The law is defended by Republican elected Phil Jensen, a staunch opponent of abortion. The State of South Dakota had tried to ban abortion referendum in 2006 and 2008, but the population rejected the proposal with 55% of votes in both cases. The proposal was rejected, however since 1994 no South Dakota hospital performing the abortion.

The National Abortion Federation (NAF) said that this law is nothing less than an invitation to kill those who support abortion. The Federation also reminds us that since 1993 there were eight murders of doctors by the guilt of abortion opponents, some were defended by invoking the "justifiable homicide."

addition, American Union for Civil Liberty (ACLU) issued a statement attacking the bill. Commonweal, a Catholic magazine that opposes abortion, supported a critical reading the bill.

The U.S. newspaper Mother Jones recalls that in addition to this law, there is another, called "Bill 1217" which could be considered by the House of Representatives. It would force women seeking abortion to follow guidance in the Crisis Center of Pregnant (CPC). According to Mother Jones, the CPC is not regulated in any way, your employees are not doctors or nurses, but volunteers are often controlled by the anti-abortion Christians.

On Thursday 17 February, the state bill to expand the definition of justifiable homicide in South Dakota was postponed indefinitely after a scandal over whether the legislation could threaten doctors who perform abortions. The Speaker of the House of Representatives said that legislation is in the hands of representatives. A spokesman for state governor, Dennis Daugaard said: "It is clear that the bill in its current form is a very bad idea."
