The shrouds are steel cable. The ratlines are crochet thread # 100, ecru, unstained and waxed with beeswax. The wooden beams are Ebony and are icing tied with embroidery thread.
This thread is synthetic but extraordinarily thin. This is a detail of the work of ratlines.
